Jay Ray's BBQ & Catering ("Jay Ray's", "we", "us") is a BBQ catering business based in Metro Detroit, Michigan. This policy explains what information we collect through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

We only collect information you choose to send us:

• Catering quote form: your first and last name, email address, phone number, event type, event date, location or ZIP code, estimated guest count, service preference, and any event details you write in.
• Contact form: your name, email address, phone number and message.

We don't ask for payment information on this website. The site stores the date and time of each request and which form it came from.

How we use your information

• To reply to your question or quote request by email, phone call or text message.
• To plan, price and provide catering for your event.
• To keep a record of inquiries so we can follow up and serve you well.

Sending a form does not sign you up for newsletters, promotions or marketing texts. We don't sell or rent your personal information.

How inquiries are processed

When you submit a form, your information is saved in a secure database used by our website. Only Jay Ray's and the people helping us run this website can see it. It can't be viewed publicly through the website.

Service providers

We rely on the following providers to run this website. They process information on our behalf to provide their services:

• Lovable (Lovable Cloud): builds and hosts this website and provides the backend that receives and stores form submissions.
• Supabase: provides the database in which quote and contact form submissions are stored.
• Amazon Web Services (AWS): provides the cloud infrastructure on which the database runs.
• Cloudflare: provides network, content delivery and security services that deliver the website to your browser. Like most web hosts, these systems receive technical information such as your IP address and browser details when you visit.

Google Fonts

This website loads its fonts from Google's servers (Google Fonts). When a page loads, your browser connects to Google, which may receive your IP address and information about your browser. Google's handling of that information is described in Google's own privacy policy.

Website analytics

We use the visitor statistics built into our hosting platform, Lovable, to understand how the website is used. These statistics include page views, pages visited, visit duration, bounce rate, referring websites, campaign information (such as tracking tags in a link), visitor country and device type. According to Lovable, these analytics do not use browser cookies or store anything in your browser, and each visit is assigned a temporary identifier that is not used to recognize you on later visits. We do not use advertising pixels or third-party advertising trackers.

Cookies and similar technologies

We do not set marketing or advertising cookies. Our hosting infrastructure may set technical cookies that are needed to deliver the website securely, including:

• __dpl: set by our hosting platform and appears to be used for site delivery, such as serving a consistent version of the website during your visit.
• __cf_bm: set by Cloudflare and, according to Cloudflare, used to help distinguish people from automated bots as part of its security services.

Your browser may also temporarily remember your scroll position while a tab is open. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of the website may not work as intended.

Email notifications and confirmations

Automated email notifications to our team and email confirmations to customers are planned but are not currently active, and no email delivery provider is connected at this time. Until then, we will reply to you directly by email, phone or text. If we turn on automated emails, we will update this policy to name the provider that sends them.

Links to other websites

This website includes links to Facebook, Instagram, The Knot and WeddingWire. These are ordinary links, not embedded tracking tools; no information is shared with those services unless you click a link and visit them. Once you leave our website, those services' own privacy policies apply.

How long we keep information

We generally keep inquiry information for 24 months after our last interaction with you. We may keep it longer when needed for an ongoing or upcoming booking, to meet legal obligations, or for other legitimate business needs. Website analytics and hosting logs are kept by our providers according to their own retention practices.

Your choices and contacting us

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the inquiry information we hold about you, subject to applicable law. To make a request, call or text us at 313-231-0834 or send a message through our contact page. We may need to confirm your identity before completing a request.

Children

This website is meant for adults planning events. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we'll change the date at the top of this page.
